How does the pregnancy calculator work?
Unless you have undergone fertility treatment or have tracked your ovulation, it can be difficult to know exactly when you conceived. Most women ovulate around 2 weeks after the first day of their period, and conceive shortly afterwards. The pregnancy calculator gives an estiated due date based on the date of your last period.
Most pregnancies last between 37 and 42 weeks. It’s impossible to know exactly when your baby will arrive – only about 4% of babies are born on their due date. However, it is likely that your baby will be born in the few weeks either side of your estimated due date. Knowing this can help you prepare and plan ahead for your new arrival.
