Is there any such thing as a secret paternity test?
Anyone undergoing DNA paternity testing can find it an emotional time. Understandably, you may not want close family or friends to know that you are undertaking such a relationship test.
To collect a DNA sample for a paternity test, a swab usually needs to be rubbed on the inside of a donor’s cheek. It is not an invasive procedure, but it could lead to awkward questions from older children. AlphaBiolabs’ new toothbrush DNA test avoids such a scenario. A used toothbrush has been proven to be a good source of DNA. Sending in a child’s regular toothbrush therefore allows for more discreet sampling.
Anyone taking part in a DNA test needs to provide consent. However, for children under 16 years of age, an adult with parental responsibility can provide this consent. So far, so secret!
AlphaBiolabs takes further steps to maintain secrecy by ensuring that all of its letters and testing kits are sent out in discreet plain packaging with no company logos or branding. In addition, online payment transactions do not name AlphaBiolabs as the recipient on bank statements. Such steps can help minimise any chance of the company name being recognised in any correspondence.
Secret paternity test passwords
You can be further reassured that we only discuss details of our DNA paternity testing with those who know the correct passwords or the answer to unique security questions. All of our reports are sent as a pdf file that require a password to open them. This password is picked by the person who instructs the test and protects the report from being opened by anyone else. In addition, all of our DNA paternity samples are destroyed after 3 months and all identification paperwork – hard copy and electronic files – are destroyed after 12 months.
AlphaBiolabs can reassure its customers that its DNA testing is 100% confidential and data security is paramount.
